Who should I contact in my area?
We have Sales Representatives and franchised distributors in most of North America, including Mexico and Canada. Locate them through our on-line listing: Reps & Distributors. For territories where we do not have representatives and distributors, please feel free to contact us directly.

Currently I am using other LED manufacturer's products. Can you provide cross reference to your LEDs?
Yes, just provide the part numbers of other LED manufacturers and our engineers will be more than happy to assist you. It will help to expedite the process if you can provide us with the specifications of the target LEDs.

Do you keep inventory in United States?
Yes, large inventory is stored in our California warehouse and at our franchised distributors'. Constant inventory reviews are implemented to assure on-time delivery and stock integrity.

What is your standard lead time?
Our standard lead time is 3 to 4 weeks for Lamps, SMTs, and Infrared products ARO. For displays, it is 4 to 5 weeks. For those we have in stock, we can ship within 24 hours ARO. The lead time varies from time to time. Please feel free to contact us for the most updated information.

How can I get samples?
Most samples of our products are available at no cost. Download the Sample Request Form, fill it out, and return to aboc@americanbrightled.com Your inquiry will be processed once upon receipt.

What is the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) of the LEDs?
For OEM customers, each purchase order must meet $250. Compare to our competitors' $700, our policy is considerably convenient. For small quantities, it is recommended to contact our franchised distributors in your area. Our distributors will provide timely response and quality customer service to your inquiries.

What value-added service can American Bright provide?
Besides discrete LEDs, we can supply complete assemblies (PCBs) with LEDs and other components. We also review customers' specs and drawings to determine LED solution. We are confident that with our resources and experience, we can provide cost reduction and quality products for our valuable customers.

How can I get a customized LED product?

If you already have a drawing, we will evaluate and provide quotation of tooling and unit costs. If drawings are not available, contact our Sales Representative or Account Manager to explain the concept. A simplified CAD file or detailed hand sketch will help our engineers to design the parts. We will provide drawings and pricing for evaluation. If authorized to proceed, first article samples will be provided for further qualification. The whole process can be under protection of a NDA.

Do you accept credit card payments?
Yes, we accept VISA, MASTER, and AMERICAN EXPRESS cards. When placing purchase orders, our Account Managers will provide a form for you to fill out with your card number and all necessary information.

How do I set up payment terms with American Bright?
You need to provide your trade references and banking information in order to set up terms. Contact our Sales personnel and obtain necessary forms. Your signature on the Bank Authorization Form is important and helps to expedite the process. Usually the whole process takes about 1-2 weeks depending on the response of your banks and trade references. Once it is authorized, our Account Manager will inform you the status of your account.

What colors of LED do you offer?
American Bright offers various LEDs from invisible to visible lights and has been trying to include more colors into our LED family. LEDs are specified by peak wavelength or dominant wavelength. In our specifications, the wavelength indicated is peak wavelength.

            Infrared:
                     Invisible Light - 850nm, 940nm
             Hot Color:
                     Purple (Violet)
             Popular Colors:
                     Blue - 470nm
                     Green - 505nm, 525nm, 564nm, 568nm, 570nm
                     Yellow - 585nm, 588nm, 590nm, 595nm
                     Amber - 610nm
                     Orange - 610nm, 620nm
                     Red - 630nm, 635nm, 645nm, 660nm, 700nm
             More Colors:
                     Green - 555nm, 582nm
                     Yellow - 592nm
                     Orange - 603nm, 611nm
                     Red - 629nm, 633nm, 642nm, 655nm

How do I generate purple color?
Usually engineers use tri-color LEDs to generate purple with different mixture of R/G/B by a LED controller. Now with our state-of-the-art technology, purple (violet) LED with a single chip is now available. No controllers are needed, which forms an excellent cost-efficient solution.

Do you offer Tape & Reel or AMMO pack package?
Yes, we offer Tape & Reel and AMMO pack to help customers' manufacturing process. Specification is available
upon request.

Can you sort LEDs for me?
Yes, some applications are required to sort LEDs to assure intensity and color consistency on the same PCB and we do provide the service for most of LED products. The bin code is composed of a set of alphabet and number beginning with the alphabet and followed by the number. The alphabetical part is to designate Intensity and the numeric part represents Wavelength (Color). With special requests, we can further bin sort forward voltage for you. Not all application requires binning. With better understanding to your project, our Account Manager can help to determine if such service is necessary.

Should I use LEDs with diffused, water clear, or color-transparent lens?
It depends on the application. Diffused lens contains diffusers which distributes the light output more evenly and makes wider viewing angle of a LED. Water clear lens, without diffusers, narrows the viewing angle, creates more focused beam, and increases intensity of a LED. Color-transparent lens has same effect as water clear lens. The purpose of tinting is to prevent mixture of different LEDs during mass production.

The intensity on your spec is measured at mcd (millicandela). How can I convert from mcd to lumens?
There is no direct conversion between the two units. Luminous Intensity measured in Candela or Millicandela is the light output in a particular direction. While Luminous Flux measured in Lumens is the total light output in all direction. Our factory can measure Luminous Flux (Lumens) with special requests, which takes about 1-2 weeks to finish.

Can LEDs be operated at AC voltage?
No, LEDs can only be operated at DC and require specific anode and cathode connection.
